Building Standards

The Chedi El Gouna’s buildings are built in accordance with the low-energy standard. They feature systematic air exchange and filtering, which ensures good air quality.

Energy Recovery

Intelligent green construction methods and the energy-saving technologies have been used.

Laundry Facilities

Bed linens and towels from The Chedi El Gouna are washed in-house using environmentally-friendly materials, and with electrical appliances that utilise low-power consumption.

Local Food Production

Nearly half of El Gouna’s food is produced locally and sustainably, including produce, meat and seafood. This both supports local farms, and minimises the need to burn fossil fuels to ship goods to the area.

Recycling Stations

The Chedi El Gouna has installed multiple areas for guests to deposit recyclable items. The city at large has also made many collection bins available for recyclable waste.

Energy-Efficient Appliances

The Chedi El Gouna prioritises the purchase and usage of appliances with low power consumption.

Bio Waste

Green waste, as well as material from grease traps are collected and sent to a facility that generates fossil fuel or fertiliser. Disposal is coordinated with the city. This reduces the number of trips and optimises loads.
